Big Girl's Bike

Not quite her birthday yet but D will be 4 this week. And with a little help from family and friends she was able to walk up to the counter in the bike shop today, throw down a wad of fivers and cycle away on the big girl's bike of her choice.

As incredible as it may seem., this was the least blinged out girl's bike in the shop. And understated unisex wasn't an option. It was pink or flames in the "first bike" range. I had to get the guy to remove some items like beads on the wheels and sparkly stickers. But the furry bag, furry saddle cover and furry passenger were non-negotiable once D spotted them.

As usual D's difficulty is S's opportunity and S was finally made a named driver on the tricycle.

Below is some filler fun from the Christmas holidays. I won't keep it as long til the next update.

Genius In A Dunnes Shirt

A very young Martin Hayes ripping into Mason's Apron as Manuel Barroso desperately tries to keep up.

I pulled this up for D who started violin lessons (not fiddle lessons) today.

Jottem!!!

A quick, picture-heavy post to mark the occasion of S's first birthday in a foreign land which happened to coincide with our holidays in ze Alps in August. Photos in no particular order. You'll notice a distinct lack of "action" shots with calf muscles glistening in the Alpine heat - that's because our expeditionary group was overcome with a blitzcokken attack of Jelly Legs and sunstroke on our first outing, a setback from which we never really tried to recover :)

Today Was A Good Day

The weather and a crackin' picnic by the river inspired me to post some photos of the day and borrow from photos of other days. Will try and arrange more picnics and post more often for the rest of the Summer.
